TCeurope's colloquium fulfilled expectations

TCeurope's 10th colloquium titled "A New Decade For Technical Communication: 2010 And Beyond" took place in Paris on April 17th, 2010. This year the colloquium was hosted by the French technical communicators' society, le Conseil des Rédacteurs Techniques (CRT).

Despite the volcanic ash cloud that resulted in flight restrictions, the colloquium was a success. Unfortunately, one of the speakers was unable to attend because of a cancelled flight. There were fewer people in attendance compared to previous years because of travel problems, but everyone present actively took part in the discussions.

An article about the colloquium and summaries of the presentations will be included in the next edition of Näkymä. Nearly all of the presentations are already available on TCeurope's colloquium website: tceurope.org/index.php/colloquium.html.

New working groups

Two new working groups were founded In TCeurope's annual meeting held on April 16th, 2010. The first group is going to find out about possibilities to start EU projects in fields such as translating, localising and clear writing. The project will be started by CRT delegate Francoise Joan.

The second group, tentatively titled Machinery Directive, has just started its work. The leader of the working group, Hansrudolf Steinhauer of TECOM Schweiz, is looking for members to join the group.
